September marks World Alzheimer's Month, with World Alzheimer's Day observed on September 21. Behind every diagnosis is still a person — with a history, personality, relationships, memories, and a need for dignity and connection. At the Vialva Legacy Foundation, we stand with families on this journey and recommit to a Trinidad and Tobago where growing older never means becoming invisible.
September marks World Alzheimer's Month, with World Alzheimer's Day observed on September 21. This month gives families and communities an opportunity to learn more about Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia, challenge stigma, and remember something deeply important: behind every diagnosis is still a person — with a history, personality, relationships, memories, and a need for dignity and connection.
At the Vialva Legacy Foundation, we encourage families caring for an older loved one to seek information and support rather than face the journey alone. In Trinidad and Tobago, the government's Division of Ageing provides information and referrals for older persons and families, while the Ministry offers several programs and services specifically supporting seniors.
At Evergreen Echoes, our commitment remains centered on the individual. As our community continues to grow, we are grateful to see our residents doing well and enjoying companionship, engagement and everyday moments that matter.
Whether through Evergreen Echoes or our broader community initiatives, the Vialva Legacy Foundation will continue advocating for a Trinidad and Tobago where growing older never means becoming invisible.
September Highlight: Memories may change, but dignity, love and belonging should never fade.
